A friend at the Nikonians forums was telling me about a project they did, where they shared a 35mm f/2 lens, by letting it travel around the country. Users would participate by photographing their cities, then push the lens forward for the next person in the list. They had a thread in the forums was the designated place for participants to share their photographs.
This was really inspiring... So I thought, how can we have similar collaboration here in Saudi Arabia, without the bit about the lens? Our postal system isn't very reliable to trust with a lens. Other couriers are simply too expensive for people to simply pay their fees.
The alternative I was able to think of, is wide aperture photography.. This will force the compositions to select where would the viewer's eye land (selective focus) with the DoF being so narrow, with a magnificent bokeh. Not to mention that f/1.8 and f/1.4 lenses are available and relatively affordable in most brands.
